Yolanda Resource Center

From Ormoc City journalist, Lalaine Jimenea's Facebook page.

"The private sector in Ormoc has grouped together and called themselves the Yolanda Resource Center. It's base is in Ormoc Villa Hotel and heading it is Ret. Army Officer Troy Bumagat. An organizational meeting was held yesterday at 3pm and present were the Ormoc Chamber of Commerce, officers of two Rotary Clubs, the Supreme Lions, Ormoc City Medical Society, Ormoc Doctors Hospital, BCBP, Lingkod ng Panginoon. We need more groups to pitch in and ensure smooth distribution and smooth transparency. Its objective is to receive donations and ensure that all barangays in Ormoc gets their fair share of relief goods as EVERYONE, rich and poor, the haves and the have nots, are hungry and in need right now. Kay right now, there are a lot of groups wanting to donate but they don't know where to. They don't want to pass thru the LGU, too. So we would need volunteers in the next few days. For more information on how you can pitch in, please call or text Troy at 0917 307 9688 and or Inigo Larrazabal at 0917 306 1264. I know we are all affected by Yolanda but some of us who have already achieved a semblance of our normal lives can pitch a hand. We must rise above of own needs and help rebuild Ormoc."

Civic groups and private entities who want to help, please contact the key people of the Yolanda Resource Center. Through this group, more relief goods have been distributed efficiently and fairly.

Rise Ormoc, Bangon Ormoc. Hold on, help is on the way!  Let's work together!
